The Application

The DispenseMart application gives one of the nation’s largest pharmaceutical wholesalers the ability to track statistics on the percentage of retail sales generated by the products they sell to their customers.  These statistics are then used to calculate rebates for the customers as they continue to purchase more products.

The Need

In early 2007 the pharmaceutical wholesaler introduced a new program wherein significant rebates were awarded to customers, on a tiered basis, based on purchase loyalty.  To accurately compensate their customers, the pharmaceutical company needed to calculate what percentage of each customer’s pharmaceutical sales came from their products.  While company sales data was readily available, the wholesaler needed a solution to retrieve and analyze data regarding monthly sales to the general public by participating customers.

The Solution

Ten2Eleven designed and implemented DispenseMart, an application that extracts raw data from third party data sources, refines it into a useable format and uploads it to the pharmaceutical company’s database.  The application then reviews the data for inconsistencies such as duplicate entries or sales outliers and flags any such abnormalities for further review.  A user-friendly interface allows employees to log in and manually view and correct the data before it is used in rebate processing.  Once corrected the data is returned to the usable population with all changes automatically documented per regulations set forth by Sarbanes-Oxley.

The Result

With the use of the DispenseMart application one of the nation’s largest pharmaceutical wholesaler is currently tracking millions of prescription sales transactions on a monthly basis.  Access to this sales activity allows the company to provide significant rebates to participating customers, providing incentive for increased customer loyalty and improving their bottom line.
